The newest of the ZOOM accessory line, this microphone interface has a built-in set of stereo high sensitivity, high fidelity omnidirectional microphones (the built-in mics on the H4 are cardioids). In addition, the interface will also accept a set of external mini microphones (defeating the internal mics) into the ZOOM H4 recorder and convert the 24 volt phantom power to the proper power for the microphones. Any microphone that works on standard "plug in power" will be compatible with the external mic jack. The interface provides just under 9v to the microphones plugged into it. The audio signal is sent into the XLR inputs on the recorder. Important note: This microphone is intended for use in loud situations. For quieter sounds, use this battery module instead.

This unit works as an interface for:

• Sound Professionals mini mics (including those that use Audio Technica capsules)
• Other brand Electret condenser microphones that can operate on 9v of "plug in power"
• Not compatible with the SP-MICRO-1 and SP-MICRO-2
